DATE: Art Nouveau, Allsopp Bros., c.1900

A fine antique signet ring in rose gold. The round face remains uncarved, resting between knotwork design shoulders. It dates to the Art Nouveau period, circa 1900 and is hallmarked "A*" for Allsopp Bros. You have the option for engraving (family crest or a motto) in an antique style, at an additional price. The Allsopp Brothers manufactured gold and platinum Rings – 10K & 14K and started in Newark, NJ in 1884 using a trademarked A with a star next to it. The company was founded by Henry Allsopp in 1885, a jeweller who partnered with his brother George. As the company grew, they built a new building located at 26 Camp Street and in 1929 George moved the company to the finished Camp street location.
