DATE: Edwardian, c.1910

An exceptional Edwardian three-stone ring: two icy white transitional cut diamond flank a gorgeous, half carat, intense blue sapphire. The stones are set within a fine millegrain bezel setting with pierced gallery and thin band - modelled in platinum throughout. Three-stone rings (aka trilogy rings) were popular engagement pieces during the early 20th centuries, the stones said to represent the past, present, and future. This one's beautifully proportioned, crafted by hand and making excellent use of platinum's superior strength to create the fine settings and shoulders.
