DATE: Art Deco, c.1920

A super charming Essex Crystal charm dating to circa 1920. Featuring two lucky symbols on each side, the subjects have been reverse carved into rock crystal domes, and hand painted to depict a lucky four leaf clover and a mushroom. We all know the four leaf clover is lucky, but what about the mushroom? After doing a little research, I can see that the fly argaric (mushroom), is considered a lucky symbol in Germany and other parts of Europe.

Each Essex Crystal is mounted on mother of pearl panels, displaying a gorgeous iridescence, and its crafted in silver throughout.
