DATE: Victorian, c.1870

An exquisite Victorian silver locket and book collar in the Aesthetic style. The locket features applied yellow and rose gold butterfly and swallow (the soul and faithfulness), along with beautifully hand-chased detailing. It opens to reveal two locket compartment with white fabric inserts and it's suspended from a well matched silver collar, made up of book chain links. Each one features applied rose gold detail and hand chased adornment, with a wearable length of 21.6 inches. It finely worked and well executed, dating to circa 1870.
