DATE: Mid-Century Costume, c.1940

A cool and unusual costume piece dating from the Mid-Century, 1940. Modelled as a snake, this collar features a mesh body, designed to be flexible and also simulate snake scales. The head and tail is finished in vibrant blue enamel, set with a purple and white paste stone "brain", eyes and neck. The head attaches itself to the snakes body, letting you decide on the length around your neck! Crafted in silver gilt, it measures 23 inches in length and makes a great statement piece.
