DATE: Vintage, c.1960

Superb Portuguese sapphire and diamond boat ring with gorgeous scrolled gallery. Quite unusually, it's crafted in 19k (800 fineness) gold - the standard in Portugal during the majority of the 20th century (specifically from 1938 to 1984). It's handmade, with delicate use of openwork and bold engraving. Circa 1960.
