Edwardian Heraldic Jade Intaglio "The Right Angle" Signet Ring
Edwardian Heraldic Jade Intaglio "The Right Angle" Signet Ring
$2,250.00
Description
DATE: Edwardian, c.1905
Cool antique signet ring set with an oval jade intaglio panel bearing an English heraldic crest and motto. The words read "De Angulo Recto" or The Right Angle, presumably relating to getting ahead in life through a measured and precise situational approach, rather than the geometric 90 degrees... The crest depicts a falcon perched on an up-stretched hand with what appears to be a jess (thin strap used to tether a bird the the gauntlet) hanging loose to one side. It's crafted in 18k gold with English hallmarks from the year 1905. Unusual to find a jade example from this era.
