Description
DATE: Art Nouveau, c.1900
Beautiful antique Lily of the Valley brooch dating from the Art Nouveau era, circa 1900. It's striking in both simplicity and perfection of form, the white bell-like flowers represented by tiny baroque seed pearls and the leaves by a single piece of carved green jade. The flower is mounted on a long knife-edge bar, designed to be worn vertically, crafted in 15 karat gold throughout.
According to the Victorian Language of the Flowers, the sweet-smelling bet deadly Lily of the Valley Lily of the Valley signifies re-found happiness, proclaiming joy has returned to your life or a fated love never truly left.
