Love is in the air...
A charming Victorian brooch, modelled as the well known love struck heart. The heart is rose cut diamond set, that glistens when moved in the light. Set in silver, it features an open back and a lovely pierced gallery. The arrow pierces through the heart, with rose cut accents to the fletching. It's crafted in 15k yellow gold, it makes a LOVEly addition to your jacket, scarf or collar.
Nowadays the heart is used to symbolise true love, however the mention of Cupid is typically seen as a cherubic infant wielding a bow and arrow, but this wasn’t always the case. Long before the Romans adopted and renamed him, Cupid was known to the Greeks as Eros, the handsome god of love. In one story from Ancient Greek mythology, Cupid (Eros) shot a golden arrow at Apollo, who fell madly in love (love struck!) with the nymph Daphne, but then launched a leaden arrow at Daphne so she would be repulsed by him.
