An unusual antique brooch modelled in the Egyptian Revival style. A faience scarab beetle is mounted as the centrepiece of a dual-bladed battleaxe. The blades, which also resemble wings, are set with rose cut diamonds, and the beetle has been given two antennae with diamond studs at the ends. Further diamonds adorn the axe handle. It's crafted in 18k gold throughout, remarkable in style and execution.
