DATE: Victorian, c.1890

A particular good antique masonic orb pendant modelled in 9k gold (with silver innards). The pyramids that reveal when opened have been hand-carved by its original mason owner, with an array of mysterious (to me anyway) symbols. The individually hinged top gives us a clue to its age - the newer pieces have a solid cage top instead of hinged arms. This one dates from the late 19th Century, circa 1890.
