DATE: Georgian, c.1820

This super charming antique seal fob is set with a carnelian agate base and intaglio carved with a gorgeous scene. It depicts two love birds, sat upon a plinth, surrounded by a floral scene- with trees, flowers and a hanging wreath. The symbolism with this one is lovely- The bird pair symbolizing love and affection while the wreath symbolizes eternal life. Eternal love. Its topped with two open worked swans at each side, known for their supreme grace and beauty, the pair represents soul mates and eternal love. Crafted in 15 karat gold, this ones pretty large in size, dating from the Georgian period. These fobs were originally worn on the end of a pocket watch chain, but we think they make great pendants paired with a chain.
