DATE: Georgian, c.1820

RSVP... Répondez, s'il vous plaît. We've all received one! This charming Georgian fob is intaglio carved with the French phrase at the base, and is modelled from a carved piece of chalcedony. There is no doubt that this was used to seal invitations for for party/social events, and it features a chequered diamond shape in the centre, with 15k rosey gold fittings to the top. Dates to circa 1820.
