DATE: Victorian, c.1890

A gorgeous Victorian ruby-set horseshoe pendant dating from the late 19th Century. It's crafted in 15 karat gold, and set with six ruby "nails", with delicate carved detailing on each side. Horseshoes have long been associated with good luck, and has become popular symbol to provide protection. There are many superstitions on which way you should hang a horseshoe, however many choose to hang it facing down, believing that when you walk under it, all the positive vibes will “rain over” them.
