Edwardian Sapphire & Diamond Openwork Cocktail Ring
Edwardian Sapphire & Diamond Openwork Cocktail Ring
$10,500.00
Description
DATE: Edwardian, c.1910
Exceptionally beautiful antique cluster ring dripping with old cut diamonds surrounding a central royal blue sapphire. The head features an outer crimped halo of calibre cut sapphires, overlapped by teardrop shaped diamond mounts and incredibly fine openwork flower motifs. With diamond-set shoulders, fine millegrain edges, and beautifully worked pierced detailing to the back, knife edge band - basically, all the usual tropes familiar to Edwardian jewellery, each one executed to perfection. Crafted in platinum throughout, it was made by hand in France during the very early 20th century.
