DATE: Victorian, c.1890
A remarkable Victorian solitaire signet ring set with an unusual bi-colour cushion cut sapphire. The stone is certified natural no heat (3.26ct), mostly an intense deep blue but with a vivid yellow triangle pointing towards the centre. The dramatic colour zoning is unexpected, and adds great character to the stone; it's mounted in a late Victorian 15 karat gypsy/signet ring, made in England circa 1890.
