What is this unusual rainbow coloured stone you ask? Ammolite. Ammolite has that lovely iridescence much like an opal, but this rare stone is a composition of fossilized shells of ammonites. Ammolite stone is believed to be one of the rarest gemstones in the world and it is highly prized for its vibrant rainbow colour.

This contemporary ring, made in 2015, is set with a square cut of Ammolite, displaying that fantastic rainbow colour effect. It rests within claw settings and is flanked by diamond set shoulders. The band, simple and slim is crafted in 9k gold, bearing hallmarks for Birmingham, 2015.
