DATE: Victorian, c.1880

A sweet Victorian ring, fully charged with romantic sentiment. The head is modelled as a double heart - each on set with a halo of diamonds around either a blue sapphire or a ruby. Double heart rings were usually given to a bride on her wedding day, to symbolise the union of two hearts. Different gemstones would represent different attributes.. in this case we have the diamonds for enduring love, a ruby for passion, and the sapphire for positivity.
