Georgian Amethyst, Citrine & Turquoise "Forget-Me-Not" Brooch
$1,250.00
Description
DATE: Georgian, c.1820
Antique jewellery often includes floral motifs, as part of their "Language of Flowers", whereby each flower or plant represented some romantic or emotional sentiment... This piece is modelled as a forget-me-not flower, and according to Kate Greenaway's Language of Flowers book, this symbolizes "True love, forget me not".
A gorgeous Georgian brooch modelled as a forget-me-not flower and set with an array of colourful gemstones. The flower itself features gem-set petals- amethyst and citrine- while the centre is set with a vibrant turquoise cabochon. Fantastically detailed leaves climb up alongside the flower, featuring a dreamy natural pearl and another turquoise cabochon flower. Its crafted in 15k yellow gold throughout, looks great worn as a brooch and even on a chain.
