DATE: Georgian, c.1750

ALL FOR THEE AND LOVE. Rarely do five words bear such immense gravity and substance... Not simply "for thee and love", the ALL suggests 'all of one's being' is poured into the beloved and their relationship. This outstanding Georgian love token ring comprises bands of dyed material (possibly catgut) meticulously wrapped around a central wire core, with human hair lettering woven through the bands to form those words: ALL FOR THEE AND LOVE. The craftsmanship is utterly mind-boggling, each strand of hair placed with such impeccable precision that allows the tiny lettering to be styled in a serif font. English, circa 1750.
