Mourning jewellery has a rich and varied history that spans centuries, with each era introducing new styles and materials that changed attitudes towards death and grief. This beautiful ring is dedicated to I.F Withington, who tragically died on October 21st aged 22 in 1809. It features a white and gold enamelled face with a weeping willow, symbolic of mourning, sorrow and grief. Its long, graceful branches "weep" over a black and gold enamelled urn and a locket, home to a lock of hair. Its crafted in 15k gold throughout with open worked shoulders and ribbed band.
